Violet....Shoe Diva!

From boots to flops, princess or shinny Violet loves them all!  There isn't a day that doesn't pass that I am searching threw the house for a pair of matching shoes!
I can even recall particular RECENT memories of meltdowns at the McDonalds shoe coral where she wanted to try on EVERYONE'S shoes!  Also a paused meltdown in Payless for a pair of pink rain boots!
I think it's pretty cute for her to tromp around in Jimmy's snow boots for an afternoon...or take off her favorite 'shiny shoes' to try on Grandpa's slippers.  It's just one of those things!

Conquering the vacuum!

It lurks in the corner....maybe behind your closet doors a scary monster that strikes fear in the toughest of girls...the vacuum!
This fear of the vacuum started like any other...fear of the unknown, a toy sucked up...but where did it go?  Violet would scream and run to her room staying there even several hours later, even passing up dinner.  With even just the sight of the toy eating monster it would send her running in terroir!  So...I resorted to vacuuming when she wasn't around....and using the vacuum to my advantage parking her in the kitchen...right by....the cookies!  It was like heaven...Jimmy access to the bathroom with out having the kitchen and bathroom on lock down (must protect Violet from toilet diving).
Then....two days ago...Violet missing for just a few min...emerges from the kitchen....cookie in hand. She is no longer afraid of the vacuum when it is off.....sigh...lock down again...

Pants on...pants off...pants on...pants off

As many of you may know as a Mom with a cutie on the spectrum I am faced with a lot of gross situations! Lately that being pants on...pants off! I get her dressed pants on... I get Jimmy dressed...turn around...pants off. What seems to her a chance for freedom has waged a battle of epic proportions for me! Yesterday....the final act....enjoying a cuddle with Jimmy, Violet goes up to her room...20 min later....I go to check on her...pants off....and nice little poo on the pillow...
What do I gotta do...duck tape these pants on?? Lord I hope she doesn't do this at school!!!

Daylight Savings...Can I get a Doctors note for that?

Blog posting....can ya think of a more challenging time to start that, other than the day after the time change?  I hope for this to be a fun way to share all the silly things my wild flower does!  Gain support, raise awareness, and....laugh.  Cause we have a wild one, and she has been a happy little gift...most times...
Violet, who is 3....almost 4, is a happy go lucky, non-verbal GIRL with autism.  But daylight savings has turned her into a savage of sort...which means bedtime is me wishing we could dart the poor beast.  It makes it's mommy calling sound from under the door from her room "hooowoooooo" which it weren't for the screeches you might think she is saying "hello".  So I go up...for the second time...to check on her...and she smiles and runs for her bed as I entered.   Great...fooled again
